Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Serene Home & Pets LTD. By accessing or using our services, you ("the client" or "you") agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). Please review these Terms carefully, as they govern your use of our services.

Definitions:"Company" refers to Serene Home & Pets LTD, including its owners, employees, agents, and contractors. "Client" refers to the individual or business engaging the Company’s services. "Services" refers to all offerings provided by the Company, including but not limited to pet care, home check services, and any additional personalized requests.

Agreement to Terms: By accessing or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, discontinue the use of our services immediately.

Service Engagement: All service requests must be made in advance and are confirmed once the Company sends a written confirmation, such as an email or text message. Urgent service requests must be arranged directly with the Company and may incur additional fees. Payments are due upon booking unless otherwise specified. Larger or personalized requests may require a deposit. Late payments may result in service refusal or cancellation. Cancellations or modifications are allowed up to 24 hours before the scheduled service without penalty. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled service may incur a fee equal to the first scheduled service charge. Failure to provide access to the property or no-shows will result in full service charges. Refunds are provided at the Company’s discretion under extenuating circumstances.

Confidentiality and Privacy: The Company collects personal data necessary to provide services, including property and pet information. Sensitive information, such as alarm codes and keys, will be managed securely and not stored beyond the completion of the services. Personal data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or authorized by the client.

Liability Limitations: While the Company strives to provide excellent pet care, it is not liable for injury, illness, or loss occurring to pets under its supervision, except in cases of gross negligence. Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the property is as agreed upon during home checks, but the Company is not responsible for damages beyond its control, such as natural disasters, break-ins, or undetectable issues. Personalized services, such as coordinating with third parties, are managed with care; however, the Company is not liable for third-party errors.

Health, Safety, and Property Access: In the case of an emergency involving a pet, the Company will attempt to contact the client or their designated representative. If unreachable, the client authorizes the Company to act in the pet’s best interest, including arranging veterinary treatment. The client is responsible for all costs incurred. The client must disclose all relevant health issues, medications, and behavioral concerns regarding their pet. Failure to provide accurate information may result in service refusal. If a pet has allergies or dietary restrictions, the client must inform the Company in advance. Clients must ensure safe access to their property and disclose any potential hazards. Unsafe conditions may result in service refusal.

Video Calls and Recordings: Live video calls are available during visits, provided there is a stable internet connection. If live calls are not possible, visits will be recorded and securely stored temporarily for personal viewing. Recordings may not be distributed without the Company’s consent and will be deleted after use.

Emergencies: In emergencies involving the client’s property or pet, the Company will take reasonable steps to address the situation, including contacting the client and relevant authorities or services. Additional charges may apply for emergency response actions.

Force Majeure: The Company is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its control, including natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government actions.

Dispute Resolution: Both parties agree to attempt an amicable resolution of disputes. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration in British Columbia, waiving the rights to a trial or class action participation.

Legal Notices: All services are provided "as is," with no guarantees of specific results. Clients agree to hold the Company harmless from claims arising from service use, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. The Company’s total liability for claims is limited to applicable insurance coverage. Consequential damages, such as lost profits, are excluded. Clients agree to indemnify the Company against liabilities arising from service use or breaches of these Terms.

Modifications to Terms: The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on the Company’s website, and continued use of the services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, with disputes subject to the jurisdiction of British Columbia courts.
